North Cornwall: - Cornwall has always been a popular place for family holidays and it is true to say that it still holds as much romance and imagination as it ever did. Whilst Motorways and easier access have led to more & more visitors to the area, North Cornwall remains the most unspoilt and often vastly overlooked part of the County. Even at the height of the season, July and August, it is still possible to find a quiet spot on the beach and a place to park the car in the town! Most people know the Myths and Legends of Cornwall and we have our fair share here. With Tintagel Castle, (reputedly the home of King Arthur and Merlin), Stratton (home of the last Cornish giant, Anthony Payne, over 7 feet tall), "Jamaica Inn" (made famous by Dame Daphne Du Maurier) are all nearby. For the more adventurous, "The South West Way" coastal path passes our door, which is Britain's longest footpath of 613 miles. Probably more than a day's walk, but is usually split up into smaller sections! Also the new "Sustrans National Cycle Network" is due to be extended to take in Bude & Widemouth Bay next year. |

Bude: - "Where coast meets country-side." The Small resort of Bude is situated on the North Coast of Cornwall and has been claimed to be "It's best kept secret, immensely popular with those in the know, yet to be discovered by many." Relatively unchanged since the turn of the century it is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday or short break. Events: - Bude Carnival, Bude Jazz week, Cajun festival, Folk & Cider festival, Lifeboat week, Shoreline Triathlon and Bude Surf & Rock, will all add to the attraction of the area. Bude's main attractions, of course, are the beaches, which are lifeguard patrolled in the season, and all hold the coveted E.U. "Blue flag" seaside award for cleanliness and the water quality is said to be amongst the best Europe. |
